About Meghan Painter

MEGHAN PAINTER

A Dalton native, Meghan Painter brings a strong investigative background, an eye for detail, and a genuine commitment to doing what is right to her work. Her experience spans law enforcement, legal services, and loss prevention, giving her a unique perspective on investigations, research, and navigating complex situations.

Meghan began her professional career with the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, where she served as a Detention Officer responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the facility and those in its care. She later transitioned into the legal field as a Legal Assistant, conducting compliance research, performing bankruptcy and military-status searches, managing case information, and communicating with clients.

Since 2021, Meghan has worked in loss prevention, where she investigates internal and external theft, organized retail crime, and transaction discrepancies. Her work includes reviewing surveillance footage and records, developing investigations, partnering with law enforcement, training new loss prevention associates, and testifying in court when necessary. In recognition of her work, Meghan was named TJ Maxx Loss Prevention Detective of the Year for Region 22 for fiscal year 2023.

Meghan earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Kennesaw State University, with a minor in German Studies. While in college, she also studied abroad in Germany and the Netherlands.

Long before beginning her professional career, Meghan spent 14 years as a ballerina and dancer and later taught ballet, tap, and lyrical dance to young students. That experience helped shape the discipline, persistence, and ability to connect with people that she brings to her work today.

Meghan is proud to call the Dalton area home. Outside of work, she enjoys life with her husband, Tony, a Whitfield County deputy, and their rescue dog, Rory. Known for being empathetic, curious, and always ready for a conversation, Meghan brings both determination and a people-first perspective to everything she does.
