Robert G. McCurry
Experienced Counsel for Families and Businesses
Robert G. McCurry is a Dalton attorney with more than 35 years of experience representing individuals, families, and business clients across Northwest Georgia. Since 1991, Robert has handled a broad range of matters, including family law, probate and estate disputes, business litigation, significant personal injury cases, complex insurance coverage disputes, financial fraud matters, copyright claims, and litigation connected to the region's floor-covering industry.
A Dalton Attorney With Deep Community Roots
A native of Dalton - the Carpet Capital of the World - Robert learned early that careful argument, preparation, and clear communication can solve difficult problems. He developed those skills through competitive debate at Dalton High School, where he earned the National Forensic League's Degree of Double Ruby, and later at Mercer University in Macon, where he attended on a partial debate scholarship and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with double majors in history and political science.
Robert earned his law degree summa cum laude from Mercer University School of Law. While in law school, he served on the Mercer Law Review, earned Dean's List honors each semester, received American Jurisprudence awards in nine areas of law, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Those academic honors reflect the same qualities clients value in his practice today: disciplined preparation, precise legal analysis, and persuasive advocacy.
Robert began practice with a large local firm, where he was entrusted with complex litigation early in his career. He researched, investigated, briefed, and argued cases involving class actions, insurance coverage, intergovernmental disputes, financial fraud, business conflicts, high-asset divorces, serious injury claims, and matters arising in the floor-covering industry. During thirteen years with that firm - including seven years as a partner - Robert built lasting relationships with loyal business clients and developed a litigation style grounded in facts, law, and practical judgment.
In 2004, Robert and his wife, Donna, founded The McCurry Law Firm. The firm was created to provide Northwest Georgia families and businesses with experienced counsel, direct attorney access, and steady guidance during difficult legal problems. As the legal needs of the region have changed, Robert's practice has evolved to focus on the matters where careful strategy and personal attention make the greatest difference, including family law, probate and estate issues, business litigation, and selected civil disputes.
